On Friday, May 30, the largest bus transportation company in the Baltic region, Lux Express, has launched a new summer season route to Klaipėda.
“Already last year, when we introduced commercial passenger transport on the regional route Liepāja–Riga–Daugavpils, we heard the desire of Liepāja residents—and the city administration—to connect these two cities. We are now happy to fulfill that wish,” said Aldis Ķibēns, board member of Lux Express Latvia.
“This new route will not only connect cities but also people. We warmly invite Lithuanians to discover Liepāja, and our Latvian neighbors to visit Klaipėda—a port city where you can enjoy the Baltic Sea by day and experience cultural events, the cozy old town, or modern hotspots by night,” said Klaipėda Mayor Arvydas Vaitkus.
The Lux Express route from Riga to Klaipėda will operate until August 31. Travel time from Liepāja to Klaipėda (and vice versa) is approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Buses will run several times daily. Departures from Liepāja to Klaipėda: 10:30, 15:00, and 19:30. Departures from Klaipėda to Riga (with a stop in Liepāja): 8:10, 12:55, and 17:10.
The Lux Express route to Klaipėda offers free bicycle transport. Each bus can carry up to four bicycles, and the service can be reserved when purchasing tickets at luxexpress.eu.
Tickets are available on the Lux Express website and mobile app.
