This spring, a youth delegation from Liepāja participated in the exchange project “CREATE.U X Youth Exchange”, organized by the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 (Chemnitz, Germany).
Together with peers from Germany, Romania, Estonia, Italy, and Serbia, the young participants explored the behind-the-scenes of cultural festivals, developed skills in project management, public relations, and design thinking, and co-created a youth-led methodology for participation in cultural events.
The program was filled not only with workshops and discussions but also with new friendships, intercultural evenings full of positive energy, and the chance to discover Chemnitz from a fresh perspective.

Over the weekend, 30 young people from Liepāja, South Kurzeme and Kuldīga took to the stage to present their culture venue development ideas as part of the Liepāja 2027 youth development pilot programme.
