Liepāja 2027 Youth Programme participants develop marketing skills and explore the challenges of teamwork
On Saturday, April 5, Liepāja 2027 Youth Programme participants met in the creative space “Vadugunis” for an engaging workshop led by Elīna Briljonoka, board member of YOU+, to explore topics such as group dynamics, division of responsibilities, maintaining motivation, and overcoming challenges.
Through open discussions and practical tasks, participants also focused on tackling procrastination, building trust in the team, and understanding the importance of rest for long-term results. Work on youth-generated ideas continues, step by step bringing them closer to project realization.
Earlier, on March 22, the focus was on learning the fundamentals of marketing during a session with mentors Gustavs Daniels Ozols and Renāts Butkus.
Participants explored key marketing principles – from understanding the audience to crafting a clear message and selecting the right communication channels. Each team also created a marketing plan for their own event, applying what they had learned in a hands-on way.
The goal of the Youth Programme is to promote active youth participation in the development and implementation of the Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027 programme, offering 30 motivated young people from Liepāja, South Kurzeme and Kuldīga the opportunity to contribute to the creation of various cultural projects and events.
During the pilot project, participants are gaining valuable knowledge and skills, as well as hands-on experience in several cultural organizations. The programme includes training sessions with cultural sector experts, regular mentoring, and a study visit to Tartu, Estonia – the European Capital of Culture 2024. At the end of the programme, youth teams will have a chance to win a €1000 grant to implement their own idea.
The project is carried out by Liepāja 2027 in cooperation with the association “Development Platform YOU+”, “Izgaismo ideju” from South Kurzeme, and the active youth association “Sprādziens” from Kuldīga.
