Two inspiring days at the 11th Latvian Events Forum in Jūrmala are behind us! This annual spring gathering brings together event professionals from all over Latvia to share experiences, learn, and get inspired before the busy summer season.
Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027 participated this year both as listeners and speakers. On the second day of the conference, Zita Lazdāne, Head of Public Relations and Marketing at Liepāja 2027, shared the city’s experience in building a unified communication strategy over the past decade – one that serves both the city’s identity and its events.
Her presentation highlighted how event communication, when in synergy with a strong city brand, creates a clear and recognisable message that not only strengthens local pride but also attracts visitors from across Latvia and abroad.
Unified communication, sustainability, and the continuation of traditions – these are the values becoming ever more relevant to Liepāja as 2027 approaches.
Thank you to the organisers and colleagues for the inspiring conversations, collaboration, and the refreshing sea breeze!

On 9 August, a new chapter was added to Grobiņa’s landscape, as the environmental art trail “Face to Face with Natural”, created by the Liepāja 2027 Foundation, opened to the public along the banks of the Ālande River. Winding across 1.5 kilometres, this trail brings together three newly commissioned contemporary artworks by Ieva Viese, Krista Dintere, and Rihards Vītols, offering a sensory and reflective journey through time, sound, and speculative futures.
