Liepāja 2027 Supervisory Board Meeting Held at the Ministry of Culture

January 15, 2025, the second meeting of the Supervisory Board of Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027 took place at the Ministry of Culture.

During the meeting, the Liepaja 2027 team provided updates on the progress of program preparation. The Ministry of Culture emphasized the importance of regular collaboration with local communities and NGOs to ensure their active involvement in project activities.

Key directions agreed upon during the discussions:

  • strengthening the role of NGOs and local communities in decision-making and activity planning,
  • creating a system for regular feedback to evaluate community engagement effectiveness,
  • further developing and implementing international communication plans,
  • further developing the framework for major events,
  • continuing close cooperation and coordination with ministries to promote the city’s sustainable development.

The Supervisory Board’s purpose is to oversee the project’s content, financial utilization, and achieved results, as well as to facilitate cooperation between municipalities, state institutions, and other stakeholders.
