On September 9, a masterclass “Eco-design in Events” was held at the Liepāja 2027 office together with researcher Kitija Balcare, exploring how sustainability and culture can go hand in hand.
Participants received practical tips, took part in creative workshops, and got inspired by examples of how cultural events can have a positive impact on both people and the environment.
The masterclass marked the continuation of Kitija Balcare’s work on the Eco-Design Guidelines — practical recommendations for cultural event organizers to help them work in line with environmentally friendly principles and Liepāja’s sustainable development goals.
The guidelines will cover key aspects such as sustainable material selection, responsible production, environmentally conscious communication, as well as solutions for waste reduction, recycling, transportation, and logistics.
Thank you to everyone who took part — together we are shaping a greener and more sustainable Liepāja!
