Liepāja 2027 invites to an informative seminar on the cultural tourism competition “Land of (un)rest, Tell Us Stories!”
To help applicants prepare their project proposals for the cultural tourism competition “Land of (un)rest, Tell Us Stories!”, the Liepāja 2027 Foundation (Liepāja 2027) invites interested parties to an informative seminar on Monday, 10 November, at 16:00 in the Great Hall of the South Kurzeme Regional Council (Lielā iela 54, Grobiņa).
The seminar will offer a closer look at the competition’s goals, conditions, and evaluation criteria. Participants will learn how to prepare strong and competitive project proposals – from building an idea that reveals the spirit of Kurzeme to shaping it into a lasting, visitor-friendly experience. The Liepāja 2027 team will explain the application process, documentation, and reporting requirements, sharing practical advice and lessons learned from previous project rounds. The session will also provide space for direct dialogue – participants will be able to ask questions and discuss their ideas with Liepāja 2027 representatives.
Those unable to attend in person can join online via Zoom.
Participation is free of charge.
As announced earlier, the open call “Land of (un)rest, Tell Us Stories!” aims to add new dimensions to the Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027 programme by developing innovative and sustainable tourism experiences. The call invites projects that address the paradoxes of Liepāja, the heritage of Kuldīga, and the living stories of South Kurzeme – blending cultural heritage, contemporary creativity, environmental awareness and attracting both domestic and international visitors. A total of EUR 90,000 is available in co-financing. Eligible applicants include companies, associations, and foundations not established by the state or local government, as well as individuals registered as economic operators. Each applicant may submit multiple project proposals and there is no limit to the number of projects each applicant may submit. The application deadline is 1 December 2025 at 23:59.

International conference “Cultural Renovation” held in Liepāja
On Wednesday, 22 October, the Great Amber Concert Hall in Liepāja hosted the international conference “Cultural Renovation”, organised by the Liepāja 2027 Foundation (Liepāja 2027). Seeking answers to the question – does culture unite or divide? – this year’s gathering brought together culture professionals from Iceland, Sweden, Finland, France and Latvia to explore cultural accessibility and availability through talks, real-life experience stories, and hands-on workshops.
