Join in the Festive Celebration of Latvia’s Independence in Liepāja!

Continuing the Week of Patriots, from November 16 to 18, Liepāja will host a variety of cultural events and exhibitions that invite people of all ages, locals and visitors alike, to unite in a festive atmosphere and explore Latvia’s rich culture and history.

We invite you to join the celebrations and honor our country’s freedom together

November 16:

  • Opening of the musical instrument exhibition “Touch” at 16:30, Liepāja Concert Hall “Lielais dzintars,” Art Space “Civita Nova.”
  • VPDK “Kvēle” anniversary concert “Mēs ciemiņus gaidīdami” at 16:00, Liepāja Olympic Center, Rožu Hall.
  • Independence Day Concert “Latvijai 106” at 18:00, Liepāja Concert Hall “Lielais dzintars.”‍

November 17:

  • Holiday Ball “Daudz laimes, Latvija!” at 20:00, Liepāja Latvian Society House.‍

November 18:

  • Run or Cycle Event “Tracing Latvia’s Contour” at 10:00, J. Čakste Square.
  • Ecumenical Service at 11:00, Liepāja Baptist Church of St. Paul.
  • Festive Concert  at 18:00, J. Čakste Square
  • Light installation in Lāčplēsis Park – Memorial lights from 18:00 to 22:00. ‍

  • Free guided tour “Six Months of the Provisional Latvian Government in Liepāja”.

  • “Symbols of Strength for Latvia” – literature exhibition on ancient Baltic symbols and words of strength for Latvia. November 1–31, Liepāja Central Scientific Library, Zivju Street 7, 2nd floor.
