In the final week of January, Justīne, public participation project manager at the Liepāja 2027 Foundation (Liepāja 2027), took part in the “Leadership for Green Transition” training in Zadar, Croatia, together with 29 other youth workers from across Europe.
During the programme, participants engaged with sustainable leadership models, undertook self-reflection and decision-making exercises, and explored how everyday organisational choices affect long-term sustainability. The programme also included collaborative workshops, in which practical solutions were developed for the participants’ respective organisations, while an intercultural evening provided an opportunity to share traditions and personal stories.
The week provided participants with valuable knowledge, confidence, and concrete ideas on how to foster greener and more conscious leadership in youth work. It also sparked discussions on implementing sustainable solutions in practice, taking into account environmental considerations, available human resources, the use of digital tools, and other relevant factors.
The “Leadership for Green Transition” training was implemented with financial support from the European Union.
