Development Platform YOU+ will implement Liepāja 2027 youth development pilot project

The foundation “Liepāja 2027” has concluded its tender for a youth development pilot project, awarding the implementation to the association “Development Platform YOU+.”
This decision followed a thorough evaluation of three submitted proposals, with YOU+ emerging as the most fitting choice for this initiative.
The pilot project is designed to equip young people with the necessary training and support to plan and execute cultural events tailored to their peers.
The project will involve the creation of a comprehensive training and mentoring programme, aimed at attracting at least 30 motivated participants. Of these, a minimum of 20 will be from Liepāja, with the remaining 5 spots allocated to youths from the South Kurzeme region and 5 from the Kuldīga region.
The programme developed by YOU+ shall encompass a series of regular meetings, team-building activities, and informal training sessions focused on event planning and execution. These activities should focus on fostering the growth and development of the participants, ensuring that the cultural events they organize are of high quality, innovative, and engaging to a diverse youth audience.
In addition to programme implementation, “Development platform YOU+” will be responsible for evaluating the pilot project and providing recommendations for the future evolution of the youth development programme.
The first iteration of the Liepāja 2027 youth pilot project is scheduled for completion by 31 October 2025, with similar programmes planned for the 2025/26 and 2026/27 academic years.
Funding for the pilot project will be up to EUR 22,000.
