Liepāja – Beyond Expectations!

Liepāja, the third largest city in Latvia and the tenth largest in the Baltic States, is home to approximately 70,000 residents who call it their workplace and place of study.

Liepāja 2027 Launches Open Call for Cultural Tourism Projects “Land of (un)rest, Tell Us Stories!”

Where rest meets unrest, stories are born. In the spirit of this paradox, the Liepāja 2027 Foundation invites bold ideas for cultural tourism through its open competition “Land of (Un)rest, Tell Us Stories!” – a call to reimagine how visitors experience the region during Liepāja’s year as European Capital of Culture. Deadline for submissions: 23:59 on 1 December 2025.

The Liepāja 2027 Foundation, together with culture and sustainability researcher Kitija Balcare, has prepared eco-design guidelines to support organisers of the Liepāja 2027 programme that are not just a technical tool, but a practical companion for anyone who wants to create events.
