19-03-2026 | 12:00
Free entry

Lecturer: Sanita Reinberga, owner of “Puķu Lauki”

The plant nursery “Puķu Lauki” in the Kurzeme region is a family-run business that has been growing perennials and ornamental grasses since 2007. A garden that blooms beautifully all year round is every gardener’s dream, but how can it be created? During the lecture, participants will learn about lesser-known plants that bloom alongside familiar spring bulbs or continue to delight even after the first autumn frosts. The lecturer will provide practical tips and advice on selecting these plants, as well as guidance on their ideal growing conditions and care.

Participation is free of charge. No prior registration required.

The lecture is part of the Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027 programme. The event is organized with the financial support of the foundation “Liepāja 2027”, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia, and Kuldiga District Council.

This is an educational lecture within the series “ABC of the Old Town Garden”, organised as part of the “Genius Loci Programme.” The series consists of six lectures and workshops focusing on historic gardens and gardens in historic settings, suitable plants, and garden maintenance. The programme will be implemented in 2025 and 2026. In October 2, 2026, professionals and others interested in the field will be invited to an international forum on this topic, offering insights into historic gardens in different countries around the world.
