The Liepāja 2027 Foundation (Liepāja 2027), in collaboration with RTU Liepāja Academy, has launched a new lifelong learning course titled “5 Steps to a Good Event”. The programme forms part of the Liepāja 2027 capacity-building initiative and is designed to strengthen the professional skills of cultural workers, creatives and young specialists, while supporting the long-term cultural development of Liepāja, South Kurzeme and the Kuldīga region.
The third class, “Inclusive Culture: Steps and Solutions”, will take place on 10 April from 14:00 to 18:00 and will be led by hearing-impaired culture expert and accessibility advocate Inese Immure. Participants will be introduced to the principles of universal design and the meaning of inclusive events, analyse best practice examples of accessibility solutions, identify common pitfalls and learn how to avoid them, and develop a concise accessibility plan for their own event or organisation.
All classes are designed as in-person sessions combining lectures, practical work and networking opportunities. They will take place at RTU Liepāja Academy, Room 317, Lielā iela 14, Liepāja. The programme is aimed at cultural professionals, representatives of the public and private sectors, educators and young specialists. Participation costs 60 EUR per individual class or 270 EUR for the full series of five classes. No prior knowledge is required, and upon completion participants will receive a certificate issued by Rīga Technical University. The course cycle is a flexible and evolving programme that can be further developed and expanded in the coming years in response to the needs of the cultural sector.
The project is implemented with the support of the EU Creative Europe program CreArt 3.0 #STRINGING_TOGETHER. The Liepāja 2027 Foundation is a partner in the project.
