Today in Liepāja we held the first meeting of the (un)rest programme’s core partners from all over Latvia. 35 cultural organisations – the main partners who will form a significant part of the Liepāja 2027 programme and start their activities already in 2025 – came together to meet, share ideas and outline the path towards collaboration.
Throughout the day we learned about accessibility guidelines, reporting and funding procedures, as well as communication processes. In the afternoon, each partner presented their project in three minutes, creating a shared understanding of what to expect in 2025–2027.
The (un)rest programme is shaping up to be diverse and bold, covering a wide range of genres – music, visual arts, performing arts, cultural heritage, residencies, film and photography, education and discourse formats, walking routes, traditional culture, design, architecture and literature.
On the evening of September 11, four poets, three languages, and contemporary jazz came together on stage at the “Wiktorija”. The poets — Sabine Huynh (France), Gökçenur Ç (Turkey), Gunta Šnipke, and Roberts Vilsons — participated in a collaborative exchange, blending their voices and styles.
