Rihards Dubra is one of Latvia’s most prominent contemporary composers. His work is deeply rooted in sacred music and early music traditions. Dubra’s compositions embody profound spirituality, a meditative atmosphere, and a strong sense of the passage of time. This concert will feature the world premiere of his quartet Les passions d’été (“Summer Passions”)

Olivier Messiaen’s Quartet of the End of Time, composed as a prisoner during the Second World War, is one of the most powerful spiritual works of the 20th century. It does not depict time—it transcends it. It is a prayer, a vision, and an answer to silence.
