From a historic port city to a modern cultural hub – for centuries, Liepāja has been a place where art, music, architecture, and nature intertwine in a single story. A city that inspires, resonates, and grows together with its people!
Today, Liepāja is a city that, together with cultural visionaries, artists, writers, librarians, actors, the theater, musicians, concert venues, and many passionate Liepājans, looks toward the future – to 2027, when it will be the European Capital of Culture!
This day is a celebration for all of us! We are truly happy and honored to witness this historic moment and to celebrate Liepāja together with you! May Liepāja always remain a place where the wind carries new dreams, and the sea – creative ideas.
