Become a Liepāja 2027 Ambassador!

In 2024, we launched the Liepāja 2027 Ambassador Programme, bringing together 37 professionals from various fields – respected figures and bright personalities from across Latvia, to serve as ambassadors for Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027.

This year, we are expanding the programme by inviting five residents from Liepāja, five from Kuldīga, and five from South Kurzeme Region to join as Liepāja 2027 Ambassadors. These ambassadors will commit to engaging with their local communities, increasing awareness, and strengthening the impact of Liepāja 2027 at the city, regional, and community levels.

What Does It Mean to Be an Ambassador?

With the programme full of a variety of events, each Ambassador will take on a role that aligns with their expertise, strengths, and personal vision for supporting Liepāja 2027.

Ambassadors will contribute by sharing their knowledge and skills to help achieve the programme’s objectives, promoting its benefits and cultural significance within their communities, and actively participating in events.

They will also play a key role in strengthening public engagement by acting as a bridge between their local community and the European Capital of Culture initiative, ensuring broader involvement and awareness.

Who Can Apply?

We welcome applications from any individuals living in Liepāja, Kuldīga, and South Kurzeme who:

Are active community leaders or enthusiastic changemakers in their neighbourhood, sector, or field.
Have constructive ideas for strengthening the Liepāja 2027 programme and ensuring its long-term cultural impact.
Are passionate and brimming with ideas and suggestions about promoting their city or region as part of the European Capital of Culture, both locally and beyond.

Participation in the Liepāja 2027 Ambassador Programme is voluntary and unpaid. Each Ambassador will determine their specific role and level of engagement based on their interests and availability.

How to Apply?

To apply, submit your application between 12–26 March by completing the following:

A written motivation statement (up to 400 words) explaining why you should be selected as a Liepāja 2027 Ambassador.
A short video introduction (up to 1 minute) about yourself.
Fill out the application form here (The application form will be active from March 12th).

Applications will be reviewed by a jury between 27 March – 10 April, with the 15 most motivated candidates selected.

Each applicant will be individually informed about the results and next steps.
