In the second session of “Kaimiņu būšana,” participants explore the concepts of placemaking and co-creation
On November 1, 2024, we gathered with active residents of Liepāja for the second session of our community program “City Neighbours.”
Led by Ieva Niedre, Chair of the INITIUM Foundation and producer of international cultural projects, participants learned more about place-making and co-creation, and listened to experience stories about co-creation from representatives of various communities.
The community program is a set of activities and ideas designed to engage the residents of Liepāja, South Kurzeme, and Kuldīga municipalities in building strong communities. It aims to foster a sense of belonging among residents, promote civic engagement, and encourage active participation in community life.
From September 2024 through June 2025 participants will engage in monthly in-person training sessions and collaborative meetings. These sessions will provide valuable insights into community arts methodologies, empowering you to enhance your local area and fill it with enriching activities. Together, participants will brainstorm, develop, and plan the implementation of various community-focused ideas, while also exploring potential funding opportunities.
We are truly grateful to all the participants who are ready to learn new skills, care for their surroundings, and build strong communities together with us!
