On the evening of Liepāja’s 400th anniversary, local residents and city guests are welcome to the centrepiece of the celebrations – a spectacular concert performance titled “Personal Code: Liepāja.” This symbolic and emotionally charged event will explore the heart of Liepāja, celebrating its identity, values, and essence.
The program features the newly created song cycle “Lake and Sea,” composed by Uldis Marhilevičs with lyrics by Guntars Račs, commissioned to tribute this particular anniversary. Alongside this, public will enjoy beloved repertoire from Liepāja’s golden musical legacy, including works by composer Imants Kalniņš, iconic hits from the band “Līvi,” and fresh arrangements by composer Jānis Strazds.
A multimedia spectacle, the performance unites a lineup of musicians and actors: rock stars Ivo Fomins and Aija Andrejeva, soloists Laura Bulava and Andris Ērglis, and rising talents Jānis Eduards Juņins, Paula Kalna, among others. Historical records and encounters between Liepāja’s eminent personalities and contemporary creatives will enrich the narrative.
Hosting this evening are actors Mārtiņš Vilsons and Agnese Jēkabsone.
