The Chairman of the Liepāja City Council Gunārs Ansiņš, along with the team of the Liepāja Bid for the European Capital of Culture 2027, today welcomed Sonja Greiner, the Secretary General of “Europa Cantat”, the largest European choir organisation, and choir music experts, who have come to Liepāja to examine our capabilities to host the International Choir Festival here.
After having looked at the capacities available in place, they agreed that Liepāja has all the preconditions for us to be able to host this event in a respectable way.
“Europa Cantat” is Europe’s largest choir organisation, connecting a worldwide network of choirs and individual conductors, singers and choir leaders.
