Liepāja and Évora Compete in a Step Challenge – Join Team Liepāja

30. October, 2026

Liepāja and the Portuguese city of Évora are launching a joint step challenge, inviting residents, friends, families and colleagues to take part in an active competition on the journey towards the European Capital of Culture year. Until 7 February 2027, participants will collect steps using the Walk15 app to determine which city’s team can walk the furthest together.

The challenge aims to promote an active lifestyle, strengthen the sense of belonging and unite the two European Capitals of Culture 2027 through friendly competition. Every step will contribute to the selected team’s total and help Liepāja move up the challenge rankings.
