35th Liepāja International Stars Festival: Ola Onabule and the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra
13-03-2027 | 18:00
At the heart of this programme is love—not as a single mood, but as a broad landscape of relationships and memories. Drawn from several of Ola Onabulé’s albums, the songs explore love in different relationships: between parents and children, as well as between partners.
Ola Onabulé’s music brings together soul, jazz and African musical traditions. This stylistic diversity is unified by the art of storytelling at the heart of his work: words, rhythm and melody become parts of a single narrative. The symphony orchestra broadens the songs’ palette of colours and dynamic range, allowing them to unfold on a larger scale.
Ola Onabulé and the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra have already shared the stage at the “Great Amber” Concert Hall. This programme is therefore not their first encounter, but a continuation of an ongoing musical dialogue.
