Karosta Children’s Symphony: “An Orchestra’s Guide to the Life of a Young Person”
The Karosta Children’s Symphony is a teamwork effort combining music, visual arts and theatre. The Bristol‑based collective “Action Hero” (Great Britain) has worked for 18 months with the Karosta Children’s Music School – side-by-side with pupils, local kids who have never touched an instrument, and up-and-coming young composers to create a brand-new symphonic work and stage show.
The symphony plays out like a storybook, with each movement taking a look at a different phase of growing up, transforming local youngsters’ personal tales into a proper artistic and emotional journey. The whole heart of the project is about cooperation, showing that the learning curve is just as important as the final show.
The premiere takes place in June 2027 in Karosta, followed by a second outing in August and a final curtain call in October 2027 at the Great Amber Concert Hall.
