Rufus Wainwright – the Canadian-American singer and songwriter known for his distinctive voice and pop-, folk-, and classical music genre-blending style – brings his programme “Want Symphonic” to Liepāja. The concert draws on his albums Want One (2003) and Want Two (2004), featuring his own compositions arranged for a symphonic setting. Often described as “baroque pop”, Wainwright’s music combines clarity with intricate melodic writing.
The performance features Latvian musicians alongside Wainwright himself, with his unmistakable voice, guitar and piano.
