Concert by Italian composer and multi-instrumentalist Bruno Bavota in Kuldīga

Italian composer and multi-instrumentalist Bruno Bavota (Naples, 1984) is one of the most acclaimed representatives of Italy’s contemporary classical music scene. His piano melodies intertwine with guitar, strings, and delicate electronic textures, creating a distinctive and deeply evocative musical language. His album “Out Of The Blue” (2016) was ranked by Italian music critics among the ten most significant Italian contemporary classical albums released since 2010.

Bavota’s music is characterised by fragility, sensitivity, and an extraordinary ability to create profound emotional experiences through the most subtle means of expression. His compositions repeatedly explore themes of human vulnerability, solitude, loss, hope, and rebirth through love. Even the titles of his compositions are carefully chosen, reflecting the emotions and experiences he wishes to convey to his listeners.

Bruno Bavota has performed extensively around the world, including in Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Japan, China, and many other countries. He first appeared in Latvia in 2015 with a concert in Ventspils.

In 2025, Bruno Bavota, together with Belgian singer-songwriter and composer Chantal Acda, released “Love Recycled”, an album by Latvian composer Gundega Demidova, creating a unique musical bridge between Italy, Belgium, and Latvia.

Bruno Bavota’s concert within the Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027 programme will be a rare opportunity to experience the work of an artist whose music has touched audiences across the globe. His compositions remind us of values that cannot be measured—the ability to truly listen, both to ourselves and to one another. The concert is part of the Liepāja 2027 (un)rest side programme.
