On Friday, 28 November, the workshop “Values as a Community Force” kicked off the second cycle of activities within the Liepāja 2027 community programme “Neighbourliness”.
The workshop was led by Henriks and Ieva Johansons, who encouraged community representatives to explore the values of their own neighbourhoods and the areas they represent, connecting these values to everyday life and personal experience. The room was filled with open conversations and shared reflections, revealing how much the participants truly have in common and how connected they feel.
Henriks Johansons is a coach, artist, and writer with more than 25 years of experience in personal development, team development, and creative expression. Ieva Johansone is an expert in public participation and non-formal education, with over 20 years of experience in leading trainings, developing community initiatives, and strategic planning.
Together, they created a safe and supportive space for meeting, thinking, and developing new skills!
The activities of the second round of “Neighbourliness” will be implemented by the association “Next”. The programme is organised by the Liepāja 2027 Foundation in cooperation with the Liepāja City Municipality, the South Kurzeme and Kuldīga municipalities, and with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia.
On Wednesday, 26 November, the first training cycle for masters of applied studies in Liepāja — the “Master in the Classroom” stage of the project “Skill Exchange Platform “Skill Market”” — concluded at Liepāja Secondary School of Music, Art and Design.
In July 2025, the Liepāja 2027 Foundation, in cooperation with the Japanese non-profit organisation “EU – Japan Fest,” invited Latvian photographers to apply for the international residency project “European Eyes on Japan | Japan Today”. 64 photographers submitted applications, and 15 of them were shortlisted for the second round.
