On October 14, a traditional cultural breakfast took place at the Kazdanga Culture House, where we gathered in a warm and creative atmosphere with cultural leaders from across South Kurzeme.
During the event, we held group discussions about the Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027 opening ceremonies in the regions – both conceptual ideas and very practical solutions were proposed to engage local residents as well as visitors. At the same time, we also explored how local communities could be involved in the (un)rest programme.
Thank you for your enthusiasm and willingness to collaborate shoulder to shoulder! We’re moving forward on our path to 2027 – just 465 days to go!
During this workshop, participants learned how to prepare a traditional bonfire, make festive decorations, create flower crowns, and prepare traditional Midsummer dishes.
On Saturday, 25 April, presentations for the second season of the Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027 Youth Programme took place, with 24 young participants from Liepāja, South Kurzeme and Kuldīga introducing to their six creative event proposals.
During the Liepāja City Council meeting on 23 April, city council members approved the appointment of Kristīne Liepa-Prese as the Board Member on Financial and Legal Matters of the “Foundation Liepāja 2027”.
