With the support of the Interreg Estonia-Latvia funded program, Liepāja 2027 youth find inspiration in Tartu 2024 and build future collaborations

From November 29 to December 1, as part of the Interreg Estonia-Latvia Programme funded project “ECoCs together", participants of the Liepāja 2027 youth program visited Tartu to meet the "Tartu 2024 Extended" team, gain inspiration, share experiences, and develop ideas for future collaborations. This journey became a vibrant adventure that combined a love for culture, collaborative creativity, and the formation of new friendships.

On the first day, the youth explored Viljandi, enjoying a guided tour and attending the Ugala Theatre performance “Cosmopolitan”, presented in four languages and blending Latvian and Estonian cultures. One participant shared their impressions: “This day was incredibly interesting and meaningful. I feel grateful to be here. The theatre performance was a whirlwind of emotions – laughter, tears, and deep reflection.”

On the second day, the group joined a creative workshop at the Printing Museum and shared insights with Estonian youth, discussing project ideas and challenges. The day ended with the mesmerizing light show “Jää ja loo”, which created a magical atmosphere.  Reflecting on the day, one participant said, “Today, I was particularly inspired by the Estonian youth and their stories about organizing events and securing funding.”

On the third day, the group visited the Estonian National Museum and explored Ryoji Ikeda’s exhibition, showcasing the interplay of art and technology. Later, they worked in groups to brainstorm future projects combining the cultures and ideas of both countries.

A big thank you to the Tartu 2024 team for the warm welcome and inspiring experience! This study trip demonstrated the importance of international collaboration and idea exchange in fostering creativity and skill development.
