Open Call for Projects: “Rock the Rock”

The Liepāja 2027 Foundation (Liepāja 2027) is excited to announce an open call for innovative interdisciplinary projects under the “Rock the Rock” set of initiatives, which is part of the Liepāja European Capital of Culture 2027 program

This call is designed to financially support interdisciplinary projects that enhance the “Rock the Rock” pipeline of events, bringing diversity, creativity, and international collaboration to the forefront of the cultural scene and creative people behind the wheel.

The goal is to support projects that dive deep into the rock tradition of Liepāja, South Kurzeme and Kuldīga regions, amplifying, rocking and “unearthing” its legacy while pushing creative boundaries. These projects should create unique and exciting events that will launch the “Rock the Rock” programme in 2027 with a bang. We are encouraging innovative, cross-disciplinary, and international collaborations that promote public engagement and ensure broad access to culture.

The competition is open to legal entities registered in Latvia's Register of Enterprises, with the exception of municipal and state institutions and their limited liability companies, including institutions of indirect administration.

Total funding available in the call for projects is €40,000 with maximum per project €8,000. Application deadline is 20 October 2024. Project implementation period is from 1 December 2024 to 30 November 2025.

Projects will be evaluated by a jury, with a focus on creativity, international engagement, and contribution to the cultural scene of Liepāja.
