On 17 August, the culture venue “Pegasus Courtyard” will celebrate its second birthday. We all know that joy multiplies joy, hence we are happy to throw a party for you in that same spirit of shared joy, filled with performances, activities, and delightful surprises, all free of charge.
The festivities begin at 12:00, with a special welcome for families and children. Our day kicks off with a concert by the students of POP ROK School, followed by games, face painting, and the unique craft of monkey fist making at 13:00.
At 14:00, the street art theatre “Fikus” will entertain our younger guests with the autumnal fairy tale “The Secret Life of Mushrooms.” This performance, enhanced with acrobatics, juggling, mummery, and bubbles, promises to be a magical experience.
From 15:00, the Liepāja Science and Education Innovation Centre (ZIIC), one of our festival supporters, will offer educational workshops. Both children and parents can dive into the aquatic world of Lake Liepāja through the eyes of a fish, challenge themselves with “Fish Twister,” create a simple yet fascinating whistle, and even try their hand at programming and controlling robots. Meanwhile, “FabLab Liepāja” invites all to test their skills in electronics by assembling circuits on a model board.
Starting at 17:00, both the curious young and the young at heart are welcome to explore the world of virtual reality (VR) games in the Pegasus Lounge. Unlike traditional video games, these VR experiences involve physical movement and offer an adrenaline-rush, immersive experience that will leave players with unforgettable memories. During this time, guests can also use the iconic red phone to send well wishes and capture the moment with a keepsake photo.
At 19:00, fans of improvisation will be delighted by a performance from the improvisational theatre “Wannabī.” This show is uniquely created on the spot, with scenes, characters, and dialogue inspired by the audience’s suggestions and the actors’ quick thinking. It’s a creative journey where anything can happen!
The celebration continues with a “Woodstock” cocktail masterclass at 20:00. Professional bartenders Mārtiņš Burģelis and Ritvars Līguts will not only share their mixology secrets but also invite the most enthusiastic participants to craft their own cocktails.
The grand finale of our celebration begins at 21:00, with a performance by KK Trio. The group, featuring Kristaps Karps (vocals, percussion), Edijs Ostapko (guitar), and Kārlis Bērziņš (piano), will take the Pegasus stage to deliver a vibrant mix of rock, pop, and beloved local and international hits. Get ready to dance, sing, and revel in the joyous atmosphere!
Throughout the day, our generous supporters, including “Cinamon Kino,” “Skrīveru Saldumi,” “Druvas Saldējums,” and “Pētertirgus,” will add extra surprises to the celebration.
