One of Liepāja’s most anticipated summer events – the Sea Festival is right around the corner, traditionally set to begin on the July’s second Saturday, July 13, when Seaside Park, from Jūrmalas Street to the concert garden "Pūt, vējiņi!" and the picturesque Liepāja beach, will come alive with festivities.
The festivities kick off on the eve, July 12, setting the stage for an unforgettable weekend. Make your way to the banks of the Trade Canal for a rowing competition hosted by the Liepāja Special Economic Zone Authority at 17:00. The Sea Festival morning on Saturday will start with a solemn memorial service at the Monument to the Fallen Sailors and Fishermen at 11:00. The festival’s programme of music, entertainment, and educational activities kicks off at 12:00 and runs throughout the day.
The music stage will feature a dynamic line-up catering to all ages. Starting with Laura Bulava's children's pop group "STARI" and a musical performance by the Liepāja Puppet Theatre “Lote sails to marine expedition”, the day will continue with melancholic melodies by Emīlija Jermola, Aleksa Rubīna, and Evelīna Lielaisramane. Normunds Kalniņš, Head of the Liepāja Theatre's Music Department, will round off the daytime programme with popular songs and theatre hits, performed alongside Miks Akots, Raitis Eleris, Māris Zīlmanis, Everita Pjata-Gerntere, and Edgars Pujāts.
