On Friday, 23 January, participants in the “Neighbourliness” community programme, organised by the Liepāja 2027 Foundation (Liepāja 2027), took part in the workshop “A Sense of Community Through Movement”, led by movement artist Kristīne Brīniņa.<\/p>
The workshop was structured in three parts. It began with participants getting to know one another, exploring the people and interests that make up a community. This was followed by movement exercises, using imagination and play to warm up the body as a nuanced, expressive, and communicative instrument. In the final part, participants were introduced to practical tools from documentary dance methodology.<\/p>
During the session, participants worked in pairs, analysing conversations, movements, and vocal nuances. Mutual trust was also strengthened throughout the exercises.<\/p>
The meeting with the choreographer provided participants with a deeper understanding of themselves and others, enhanced communication skills, and fostered confidence that will be valuable in future community work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
