From 4 to 6 December, the first activities of the “Youth Connect” project, funded by Interreg Estonia–Latvia, took place in Liepāja, where participants of the Liepāja 2027 youth programme collaborated with 24 young people from Tartu. The three days, full of energy and creativity, provided an opportunity to build new connections, get to know one another in an informal setting, and take part in engaging games about Latvia and Estonia.<\/p>
This year, the participants were tasked with developing event concepts within 27 hours and with a limited budget, creating ideas that would appeal both to their peers and to an international audience. The concepts were presented on 6 December in the “Pietura” space on the first floor of the concert hall “Lielais dzintars”.
\nThe young participants describe the training as highly valuable — it allowed them to test their abilities, apply the knowledge gained during the first days, and prepare for creating meaningful international events as the project continues.<\/p>
The project “Youth Connect” is supported by the Interreg IV-A Estonia-Latvia Programme 2021–2027, which aims to strengthen cooperation between the cross-border regions of Estonia and Latvia.<\/p>
Project objective: to develop the skills and knowledge of young people in creating inclusive and international events. To this end, a joint training program will be created, resulting in at least two jointly created international cultural events and a network of youth cultural coordinators for cross-border knowledge sharing.<\/p>
