Now, they will resonate with the warm voices of string instruments.<\/p><p>The Liep&#257;ja String Quartet&mdash;L&#299;ga Balt&#257;bola, J&#257;nis Balt&#257;bols, Annija Elizabete Meija, and Dina Pu&#311;&#299;te&mdash;invites you to a concert where music speaks in an ancient tongue, yet pulses with a contemporary heartbeat.<\/p><p>The programme features Johann Michael Haydn&rsquo;s Divertimento, radiating the clarity and lightness of Classicism; two movements from Mendelssohn&rsquo;s Four Pieces for String Quartet, where Romanticism is still young, inquisitive, and full of lyrical longing; and Joachim Raff&rsquo;s String Quartet In the Ancient Style&mdash;a musical kaleidoscope where Baroque and Romanticism meet like two travellers crossing the same bridge.<\/p><p>The South Kurzeme Festival &ldquo;Rimbenieks&rdquo; is implemented within the framework of the &ldquo;Liep&#257;ja 2027&rdquo; programme, with funding provided by the Ministry of Culture, the State City of Liep&#257;ja, and the municipalities of South Kurzeme and Kuld&#299;ga.
