Liep&#257;ja 2027 stands as a symbol of creative freedom, bringing together concerts, performances, talks, and other events through which the city&rsquo;s untamed cultural heritage is reinterpreted in new forms and contexts. Held across the city&rsquo;s cultural venues, these diverse events will tell the story of Liep&#257;ja as a place where rock is not merely a musical genre, but also a way of thinking and a way of life &ndash; a cultural movement that inspires creativity, experimentation, and unexpected artistic discoveries. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the spirit of freedom that defines Liep&#257;ja.<\/p><h4>Plan Liepaja:<\/h4><ul>\n<li>February &ndash; March, 2027<br>\nThe alternative rock music festival &ldquo;New Century&rdquo;, during which a series of radio programmes on musical events at the turn of the 21st century will be produced, along with a new musical works.<br>\nProject implemented by: SIA &ldquo;Wiktorija&rdquo;<\/li>\n<li>February, March, April and May, 2027<br>\nA series of erudition games titled &ldquo;(ne)rest games&rdquo; in which participants will explore and interpret Liep&#257;ja&rsquo;s rock music, alternative culture, and free-spirited spirit across four themed erudition rounds.<br>\nProject implemented by: the association &ldquo;Faktu formula&rdquo;<\/li>\n<li>February and April, 2027<br>\nA series of talks and musical discussions &ldquo;Rebel Halt&rdquo; at the cultural venue &ldquo;Pegaza pagalms,&rdquo; with each evening dedicated to discussions about prominent Latvian musicians whose careers are closely associated with Liep&#257;ja.<br>\nProject implemented by: SIA &ldquo;Liepaja Music&rdquo;<\/li>\n<li>February and May, 2027<br>\nThe original series &ldquo;Rock Castling&rdquo; will explore, through interviews, discussions, and analysis, the influence of rock music and alternative culture on societal identity, while highlighting Liep&#257;ja&rsquo;s significance as one of Latvia&rsquo;s most important centres of rock music.<br>\nProject implemented by: the association &ldquo;&#274;tera Osta&rdquo;<\/li>\n<li>March, April and May 2027<br>\nThe event series &ldquo;Rocky Underground and the Broken Wave,&rdquo; in which young musicians and artists from Liep&#257;ja will collaborate with composer J&#275;kabs N&#299;manis and musician K&#257;rlis Tonis from the post-metal band &ldquo;Tesa.&rdquo; The new works created through this collaborative process, along with other original works by the participating artists, will be performed at a grand concert.<br>\nProject implemented by: the foundation &ldquo;Equilibrium Group&rdquo; Foundation<\/li>\n<li>May, 2027<br>\nThe project &ldquo;South Kurzeme: Sounds for Tomorrow&rdquo; which will involve students from the Liep&#257;ja Music, Art, and Design Secondary School, as well as young people from music schools in the South Kurzeme region, to explore Rucava&rsquo;s cultural heritage and folk music together with the ethno-group &ldquo;OGAS&rdquo; and other professional musicians. The project will culminate in a joint performance on Rucava Day in Liep&#257;ja.<br>\nProject implemented by: the association &ldquo;Svent&#257;ja&rdquo;<\/li>\n<li>May 2027<br>\n&ldquo;From Baroque to Rock&rdquo; will present a series of concerts at the Karosta Chamber Hall.
